    Alexia Catenacci

Alexia is a registered physiotherapist with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. She previously graduated from Curtin University and was awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship for her achievements. Alexia has gained experience in providing both inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services in orthopedics, acute aged care and gerontology, paediatrics, cardiopulmonary, inpatient neurology and musculoskeletal outpatient services. Throughout her physiotherapy career, she has been actively involved with treating various sporting teams, where she founded a particular interest in sports injuries, especially in the field of soccer. Additionally, she has worked with professional athletes, and has been the physiotherapist first in charge on international soccer tournaments around Malaysia.

Alexia has completed both RMR1 and RMR2 courses in spinal, pelvic, scapular stabilization and peripheral joint stabilization with reformer and vertical frames, as well as the mat work Pilates series, learning under renowned STOTT Pilates® Master Trainer, Melanie Byford Young. Through this, she learnt how to link clinical assessment with movement intervention, getting clients to successfully progress from injury to activity and return to work or sport. Being a STOTT Pilates® Clinical Instructor, Alexia leverages her ability to use diagnostic skills, exercise knowledge, and other treatment techniques from a physiotherapy perspective, to then enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of clients with a wide range of conditions and musculoskeletal injuries.

Along with Alexia’s Pilates qualifications, she has also completed courses in Dry Needling. Alexia’s problem solving skills are a definite asset, which enables her to think critically, creatively and reflectively. Through a combination of manual therapy and exercise prescription, she strives to meet her patient’s goals through active recovery and self-management. Alexia is a firm believer in a holistic view to treatment and rehabilitation, and bases her management of patients through the best evidence based practice.
